SUGGESTIONS FOR TRAVEL
Internet and Wi Fi
Most hotels and lodges have Internet services and a business; you can make use of them for a small fee. If you are planning to bring your laptop some lodges and hotels offer Wi Fi service. Also there are very good shops that offer camera batteries and cards if you forget.
Tips
Tips for guides and drivers are customary. Although service is added to all invoices to leave tips at restaurant and lodges is greatly appreciated.
Credit Cards and Travel Checks
Credit cards are well accepted in Ecuador from lodges, shops and restaurant; ATM are located in various parts of the city and you can draw up to $600 dollars a day $200 at each time. Travel Checks are accepted at all mayor hotels in Quito , Guayaquil and Cuenca , changing them into cash can be a problem. At Markets only cash is accepted, also entrance fees to national parks are always in cash.
Food and dietary restrictions
When bookings are confirmed you will ask you if there are any dietary restrictions. Most lodges and hotels have a wide selection of vegetarian meals, but for vegan and gluten we will need to inform them exactly what guest can and cannot eat.
Safety
All our tours include a small extra fee for a travel insurance that will cover loss of theft of equipment and travel problems, this will be explain in detail during the booking process. When visiting town and during city tours do not leave your cameras and video equipment unattended. Do not leave them in reachable places or near windows in the bus. In hotel and lodges please ask at reception if they have safes if you need them.
